Professor Fast’s research focuses on the determinants and consequences of power and status in groups and organizations. He also examines the interpersonal processes that lead people, ideas, and cultural practices to become and stay prominent. More recently, his research lab has begun to study how and why people form particular networks as well as how people change as they use technology.
